Today has been quite an eventful day at Stade Rennais as a new player has been signed as well as the final result of the stadium re-naming poll being revealed.

Fans were told this morning by the club that the stadium is to be renamed 'Roazhon Park' following 60,000 overall votes cast.

The winning name comfortably beat its sole competitor, 'Stade des Hermines' and will accompany new all red seats around the stadium for the coming season.

As the day went on, news came through the social media sphere that Rennes had signed their second player of the season in RC Lens left-back, Ludovic Baal.

The 29-year-old French Guyana international has joined the club on a three year deal and spoke on his Twitter page about the deal, he said:

“I want to thank my family and friends first of all who have always believed in me.

“I also have a very big thought for my Lens friends and the supporters of the club. Good luck to you.”

Speaking to the club's official website, Baal also outlined his intention of getting Rennes into the Europa League and he feels confident about the challenge next season.

Baal played 27 times this season for Lens and he joins his ex-team mate Dimitri Cavare who had already signed for the club as their first signing for this season.
